The Great Seal of the Commonwealth

Great Seal of Commonwealth.JPG

The Great Seal presents the unity, identity and principles of the Commonwealth. It was created as part of the Articles of The Commonwealth. The Commonwealth Flag is represented in the center shield, comprising the Union Jack of the 'Home' Republics, the stars of the 'First' Republics of North America, the Southern Cross of the Australisian 'New' Republics and the springbok of the African 'South' Republics. The moto in latin represents the maxim that 'united we stand and divided we fall'. The creatures of the Commonwealth are also featured. The lion represents the original Protectorate originating with the Kingdom of England. The lion now stands on the crown of the monarchy which once suppressed the peoples of the Home Republics. The eagle represents the more numerous First Republics, keeping a watchful eye over the Union. The winged horse was once a shackled unicorn but with the creation of the United Commonwealth, has been freed and now is able to roam free around the world and bring others to the 'Goode Cause'. It stands upon the books of knowledge and the law, for without wisdom and science there can be no freedom. The serpent represents the sea faring merchants and the navy upon which the Commonwealth depends to further and protect its lands. To the left of the shield stands the Senate, representing the government of the Commonwealth. To the right is a tall ship representing military and trade which bind all republics together. Above all is the shining beacon of an ancient lighthouse, representing the spirit of God watching over and providing guidance to the Commonwealth.
