It is 2016 and Saskia Deans is an agent working for the intelligence service of the United Commonwealth of Republics, a global superpower and union of the world’s English-speaking nations. From its capital of London, it governs a quarter of the globe’s landmass and two billion citizens.

 

But Saskia was born as Anna Deans in a different reality where the United States and United Kingdom exist. Awakening into this new world with a very different history, she assumes the identify of her counterpart, attempting to blend in while struggling to determine if she is insane or truly in a parallel reality. 

 

It is induction day and Anna joins her new unit of trainees comprising a washed-up SAS commando, a Quebecoise seductress, a Virginian marine, a Hong Kong policewoman, a Punjabi army officer, a Gibraltarian con artist and among others, an amnesiac spy from Oregon. 

 

If navigating a world with a different history and culture were not problem enough, turning up for training on the day when her center is attacked by heavily armed enemy combatants only adds to Anna’s misfortune. 

 

But even the complex into which her team retreats is not what it seems, a purpose-built maze designed to preserve secrets. Lost deep inside, the outgunned and inexperienced team must quickly come together if they are to prevent the enemy from achieving their objective and more importantly, if they are ever again to see the light of day.
